BEAST „Fiction” Comeback on M!Countdown

Absolutely amazing comeback.

I like the song more and more.

Yoseob looks amazing and sings amazing. Dongwoon had a mic and sang along Junhyung’s part!!!

Great synchronization - this isn’t their strong point, but here they passed the exam with an A grade.

LAIWRSHGKLAIEWYTB UYHGKAHGSLKHGAKRJHGLAKGHLLOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIT~

If you’re a 2NE1 fan - don’t read it.

I said it once, I’ll point it out once again. This time harder, because I’m really ANNOYED and instead of creating hateful replies on some forum, I preferred to write about it on my personal blog. Nobody needs to read that, it’s for my personal purposes.

I’m annoyed by 2NE1. SO annoyed. I’m less annoyed with BB, I must admit, because I’ve never actually found TOP irritating. I’ve recently started to actually like - no, too much, but... you know what I mean: accept - GD. He’s actually very good-looking, let’s start from that.
But. That doesn’t change anything.
I’m still AGAINST.

But in 2NE1 every single lady annoys me. Now, let’s get it straight: the first time you usually see some performer is on the MV, then you become interested, then watch some shows with celebrities to know them more. I haven’t seen any. Why? Because I’ve never seen the MV which hadn’t annoy me. Maybe Hurt was ok, but irritated me - yeeeaaaah - that they released it around Halloween which was such a bow to States =.=

It’s not an unknown fact that S. Korea is pretty Westernized, mostly in USA way. But as I mentioned below - YG performers are too obviously bowing to America. As for me. I really tried to accept them.
Why should I check blindly whom not to like? They themselves made me feel disguisted, sorry.

OK, let’s say that Sandara annoys me the least, partially because I’ve got some image of her from Thunder and since I like MBLAQ, I came to naturally accept her more as well.

But 3:1? Bad outcome.

CL annoys me unbelievably. Her blonde hair, her too obvious black make up (it’s really too noticeable - I’m wondering, how does she do it?! It’s not that thick, but it looks really fake.), her voice which is just... awful, her ghetto style, her English accent... No no no. If I ever wanted to watch some bronx girls, I would turn on some American „black” (sorry for racism) MV.
I used to *a little* admire Minzy since her looks are very uncommon - that’s cool. But every time I see her, she always looks like a one eternally rebellious girl. Too much.
Park Bom... she’d been always pretty unnoticeable for me, but after watching her solo MV - I’ve seen it ten minutes ago and from all those negative feeling I have for them right at this moment I forgot the title - I discovered whose voice actually irritates me on the second place after CL.
Guess whose? Surprise!

OK, I’m really getting rid of all bad emotions right now. My whole week’s stress and so on... Sorry, that’s just a need for me. They seem to be the girl band i like the least so they will be beaten by me now. Sorrryyyy~

Soooo... since I’m feeling slightly better now (imagine posting all those thing on some forum or below some 2NE1 MV O.O now you understand?) I’ll now mention things that I actually find postive about them, in my own opinion of course.
Because YES, there are such things. Surprised? I’m always trying to look at things from different perspectives.

1. Sometimes they have really AWESOME outfits or at least parts of them. I mean, generally in every MV there are just too many weird things, but if there were less of them, it would be quite cool. Just too much is not healthy. Forced fashion rebelliousness as it seems to me.
But SHOES, they have absolutely awesome SHOES!
And coats sometimes, but less often.

2. First MV I've seen of them was "Clap your hands". And so far it's the MV I've seen more then once which is CREEPY because it was THAT MV which made me say "naah~ no -.-„ to them. Yet I still turned it on two or three times more. Only for first part - verse+chorus - which is even MORE CREEPY, because that's the part of the MV I hate the most. Suuuuch Broooonx~ nonono. Hate it.
BUT. I've played it more than once because I actually quite like the song itself. Not that much to watch the whole video though :P
But the beginning is cool: baksuchio~ baksuchio~ Like the clapping as well. The dance in the chorus actually raise my *appreciation* because it's not bronxy at all - yessss, good move.

3. Now, the thing most difficult. Their rebellious, feministic image.
Let's do it schematically…
Originality? Yes.
Feminism? No.
GENERALLY, it's cool that there are some girlbands which are different from others. Girls that, well, try to fight… a bit… don't know how to describe it. That can be put as the advantage.
Disadvantage, as for me? Exactly the same thing: I like originality, but I don't like THIS KIND of originality. I don't like the style of naughty, rebellious girls.
I am personally quite a rebellious girls. Not naughty, however.
But the magic of kpop, as for me, lies within this innocent, cute, sexy (but in asian way) image of girlsband. I'm SICK of all those naughty girls in western media.
Don't forget that I'm a girl as well ;) I may not like it as an image of my fav celebs, but I don't deny that I might PARTIALLY behave like that. Aforementioned.

So, yeah. That's basicly everything I wanted to post. I got rid of my annoyance as for now. I thought to myself: should I really post it…? Do I need to do it after I've written it?
But as you can see, clicking "post it" is the cherry on top.

PS: If you somehow managed to read it and you’ve got a simple question: why did I have to write all that? Don’t I have the life? here is the answer:
I DO have a life. Awesome life. I’m writing it because:
a) I’ve got recently some difficult issues to deal with and I must relieve stress;
b) 2NE1 is extremely popular - I know their names even though I don’t like them, same as with BB - isn’t that a sign of HUGE popularity of them? The reason why I’M so annoyed is that I see them all the time, I hear about them all the time and I can’t believe how such irritating vocalists and American-women-wannabes can gain such a huge fanbase. Ok, to the second point, I know the answer, it lies in the mentality of being fascinated by everything which is different. Not a good time and place to discuss it. But the first thing...? There are lots of better vocalists... these may be distinctive - aforementioned point 3 - but not in a way I appreciate it.
Pure subjectiveness~ deal with it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrXUsXtDsS0&feature=player_embedded

The thing that lead rapper is singing the whole time, singing in falsetto, what’s more, is quite interesting. „+” for GD. The rest of the performance... is acceptable.

Sorry. I’m not an antifan to any Korean celebrity or band, but if I had to choose one, that I don’t like, that would be Big Bang >.<

And the most surprising thing is that even though I don’t follow them, I know exactly who is who in BB >.< it’s CREEPY.

I’ve tried quite a few times to listen to their songs or watch some MV. When the first time didn’t appeal to me, I thought „OK, maybe the next one” - but still no. The most annoying thing is that BB, well, whole YG, is too americanized to me. I mean - we all know that k-pop is much influenced by American pop. But since I’m NOT into American pop, I’d like to treat is as „Korean pop”. Not a copy of American pop. And most YG artists, at least from what I’ve seen, appeal to me more Americanized than SM, than JYP and other agencies.

So I say "no" to YG.
I’ve tried. But 2NE1 annoys me, BB annoys me, Se7en is acceptable, but still his American episode annoys me and I’m not in the mood to check other performes from YG Family. Blah.

Even though... I still can say the names of every single member of 2NE1 and BB. I can recognize faces of most of them. That means, they are incredibly promoted.

Yeah, so particularily I'm recently enjoying few single tracks by singers or bands I don't usually listen to. But maybe in one case I'll start following them...

Anyway, here's my list:

Too Late by Coed School

- when I first saw it on MuBank I wasn't overwhelmed. Well, yeah, I just noticed that mixed bands are very rare in korean music industry. But then I played this track once again and I found it quite good, actually. Now I like to listen to it from time to time and I think I'll check them out, especially because they've just debuted ^^

Shut up! by U-Kiss

- OK, so I knew about them from quite a long time, but like in BEAST, MBLAQ or 2PM I wasn't interested in them. I have my own SHINee :P But I've seen Kevin, Alexander and Eli few times in Pops in Seoul on Arirang - they were pretty cute ^^ I also remembered that they debuted the same time as SHINee, so they are their biggest rival, I guess :P Anyway, I've just watched their recent comeback with Shut Up and WOW, that is awesome! To be honest, I can only distinguish Kevin (even though he's dark-haired now) and Alexander because of his mixed ethnicity (which is SO COOL). But I'll check them out also, mostly to be able to differentiate them xD Biggest crush out of the whole list - Shut Up!'s choreography, image, cyber-vibre appeal to me, I think it's a really awesome concept.
Btw, isn't this rapper Dongho? Wasn't Dongho in Maknae Rebellion calling Taemin per 'hyung'? O.O --- hahaha, is it possible, it's him? xD

Magic Girl by Orange Caramel

- hahaha, everybody is dancing it now! xD I find this super cute and kawaii, although... yeah, although it's Japanese style. I don't like Japanese 'too candycute' style, but I find OC very refreshing in k-pop :D and the dance is pretty easy, as well :P So yeah, like it!

Breath by miss A

- OK, to be honest I was waiting for their new single, so this group doesn't fit too much into this list, but I'm not into girlgroups as much as I'm into boybands, so I just watch every new video by Wonder Girls, SNSD, miss A, without - however - being interested in the girl offstage. I cannot tell names of any other band beside miss A (because they are a foursome - phew! xD), even WG, which used to be my first fav girl group! Hahaha...Nevertheless Breath is AWESOME. It's colorful, yet not too sweet (like Magic Girl), dance is original, new, fresh, mood is bright and jumpy - really addicting song ^^ Learning some dance right now, lol :P

Genie by SNSD

- like I said before, I've never been into girlbands too much; I've seen most (I don't know if all) MV's by Girls' Generation, yet this one grabbed my attention after watching... Key nailing this dance with his divaishness :D:D:D I found it really great, both music-wise and dance-wise, and I learned the chorus part :D not too much, but hey, I'm lacking time and skills to quickly remember the choreography! :P

Abracadabra by Brown Eyed Girls

- once again, Keydiva! He moved his pelvis SO yummy, that I just had to check out the original MV XD and I found it quite dirty, yet catchy. Yeah, girls are sexy in this vid :P Moving pelvis is a must while listening to this track!

OK, that's all. No afterword ^^

Onew style.

One hand movement, three different expressions. So true~

<3Uonew. Especially with leather&longhair+middle parting. I just love it too much <3

Onew's interview about "Rock of Ages"

A few excerpts from the interview. My personal favourites... really thought-provoking.

Making dreams come true.

PD Standing on stage, the things you want to do, and the things you can do, between those which are you closest to?

Everyone dreams at least once of wanting to become a singer, of wanting to try and do something. I think that’s what it was like for me too. And there was also the thought of ‘I can do it.’ Before, I used to have a lot of unnecessary confidence. (laughter) Nowadays I have a lot of schedules but I don’t think ‘ah, I can’t do this,’ I think ‘I’m doing this because I can.’

Onew's plans for the future.

PD What is it that you want to do in the coming future?

I want to try opera, acting, DJing. I have much greed. I have so much it's borderline strange. What I want to do, I do it. No matter which direction it goes in. If I form a goal, I do it no matter what.

*operaoperaoperaonthefirstplace*

School achievements.

PD So for certain, coming in 2nd in your school during your 3rd year in high school isn’t something just anyone can do. (laughter)

I slept, I did. (laughter) (It was always the friends who do well in school who would do that, coming to school on Monday saying that they watched a movie during the weekend. (laughter)) I slept during rest periods. (laughter) But that really isn’t incorrect. I forgot it all now so I’m not sure, but back then I really worked hard.

(translation by live laugh love @ soompi)

Here is the original Korean version.

<3 him more and more.

Hello Baby!

Yeah, so I'm watching Hello Baby! with SHINee, and this show is AWESOME.

I mean, there are so many funny gags, boys are hilarious, Yoogeun is the sweetest thing ever (indeed SO SIMILAR to Minho! They both really look like father and son!) and I can really observe how does the three year old behave. Really. To be honest, I've never been good in telling what is the mind of a child in the certain age. I have good contact with children (even though I feel uneasy at the beginning) and I must confess, that recently one six year old girl fell for me totally (she was sweet!). So observing Yoogeun makes me understand a bit the mind of a child.

And obviously there's another advantage of that concept: children are always honest. They won't be playing someone else. They are natural. And so, boys' reactions must be natural as well, since they are kind of responses to Yoogeun's behaviour. This is really interesting.

Anyway... I should have been writing down the best gags from the beginning but, uh, I didn't think about it. So now I'm watching episode 8 and apart from games in the classroom (Jong's "accident" with Yoogeun :P:P:P chasing everybody, which was hilarious, and of course Onew's chicken rant), I totally fell for Minho evesdropping voting Jonghyun. Or rather - Minho's reaction to the selfspeaking Jonghyun xDDDD

"Key will vote for himself... Taemin will vote for me... Onew will also vote for me... -> Minho is dying from laughter behind the door xDDDD

What's next to come in this episode?

Hahaha, Jong cannot decide whom to choose xDDD "Coca-cola tastes good..."... meanwhile Minho is totally big-eyed in the background xDDD And the, after he enters the voting room, Jjong's expression and panic is priceless xDDD

"...but I don't like coca-cola at all" - haha, Jjong, you've been caught! :P:P

OK, it would last even more than my 1 hour per episode (since I'm replaying almost every action to see in detail, what did you think! :P) if I wanted to describe every single gag :P *off to next epi*

PS: Btw, this just overwhelmed me. I feel like broken into pieces. Or at leat I felt like that a couple of hours ago. Then I actually managed to focus on my work (tidying my room), because - surprisingly - it gave me LOTS of energy. Strange emotion. I really couldn't (and I guess I still can't) tell anything about this song. It just... well, threw me far away. Jong "Bling Bling" Hyun's 혜야 (Y Si Fuera Ella):

Lady Collection

I've just discovered this girlband. Or rather, the trio.

Sei, Ally and JiEun.

What can I say... the best word to describe them for now would be subtle.
Fragile, delicate, emotional. Precious flowers.

The CD cover just resembles the image I get from them. Really original and soooo pretty, a little vintage I would say.

And the first MV I've seen. The only, so far :P

And the perf:

They have really nice voices, quite distinctive, so I shouldn't have any problems with telling one from another. My favourite, so far, is JiEun ^^

Off to watch more.

EDIT: WOW. Lady Marmelade. Just *a little* off tune, the rest was astonishing!!!

Little ONEW & Jonghyun fangirling.

WAAAAAAA~!!!

OK, so I'd never really payed attention to SHINee's leader, just because. Couple of weeks ago I got massive crush on SHINee and so I became more and more interested in their personalities & stuff.

But let's skip it.

WOW. ONEW WOULD LIKE TO TRY OPERA.

I just died. x____x

Because say what you want, but since I was raised with the classical background, I really LOVE opera. It was always like this:

opera <-------------------------------------...-------------------------> k-pop

AND HERE IT IS, ONEW TOUCHED THE TOPIC! OMG!

Wow, I'd love to hear him trying some opera stuff!!! I'm very critical to opera singers, but I've always judged k-pop vocalists with a totally different measure than opera singers, so I'd be FINE if anybody of them tried some opera piece.

AND TOTALLY BTW, THIS SHOW (I mean The Muzit) WAS JUST AWESOME if we talk about their voices!!! OK, Jonghyun had a hard time, really, but he's usually great, so... well, he must have had a bad night or something, poor boy :<

Nvthlss, WOW, what shocked me the most was (apart from Onew's opera ambitions):

1. Taemin's vocals; WOW, he has SOOO progressed!!! I remember when, at the beginning of their career, he couldn't sing live almost at all... I thought then "wow, next Sohee =.= youngest&can't manage to sing, yet is the cutest" (OK, forget the SuJu magnae Kyu, because he's an awesome vocalist, yet nvm, you know what I mean).

And so? Taemin actually PROGRESSED A LOT, he really sounds pretty, especially in comparision to his pitful debut period.

And Sohee? I've never heard her singing well so far ]:D

Ooops, sorry, I just don't like Sohee at all. Well ^__^'''

But nvm, let's come back to SHINee.

2. Second thing is Onew's clear voice. WOW, I really don't remember ANY male k-pop vocalist (I mean, out of those younger) who would sound so good, just like on the actual recording! Forget Brian, Hwanhee and those, I mean today's SM vocalists.

OK, you might disagree with me, but I wanted to emphasise, that I hear that Onew's voice is not the strongest (like in Junsu's case, for example) - it actually sounds very unstable. Yet he proves, that he can, he's really able to control his voice. And this is GREAT!

3. Third thing, well, Taemin's piano. It wasn't anything mindblowing, that piano piece, but he used pedals and he has a nice touch. And yet we could see two of his additional skills (additional to dance) in ONE show. That's awesome. I mean, it's like he appeared as somebody totally different. Not only a cute magnae dancer, but also quite a nice singer (his voice reminds me a bit of Jaejoong :) ) and, well, maybe not really talented, but at least an aware pianist. WOW.

You'll kill me once again, but as for now he's not high on my fav list out of SHINee :P

4. Jong as bassist!!! And Jong wanting to sing rock songs! That made my day! I'd LOVE to hear him singing rock, I believe he'd manage to do it ;)

And coming to Jong... He has a really nice voice when he speaks. Apart from singing of course, but I really like his timbre. Quite high, which doesn't match the image type he represents but that's even more intriguing. And that's the second topic of my post...

HAHA. ANALISE JONG'S IMAGE! As for me of course.

He was "created" as "sexy type". Ok, he can pull it off.

But during some shows or interviews he's totally cute, sometimes even girly. Add his voice which is quite high-pitched (yet SO sexy, really. I love listening to him), add really pretty, big, shining, sometimes puppy-like eyes...

...doesn't he have something feminine in himself?

YEAH. And I love when guy has some little discreet feminine side.

OK, I'M NOW PRETTY EXCITED. This night will be looong :P

Classical motives in pop music

I like when creators of modern pop music use classical forms and motives to create new and interesting song. This is a good way to present classical music to younger generations. As far as it's done properly (original reendition, innovative, not only Mozart's piece on techno background - cheap -.-), it's a great thing. This became my interest not so long ago. Sorry for crappy English this time, I'm a little bit tired.
So check those out and if you know anything else - point it out in comments!

"Tri-Angle" - DBSK

This was the first DBSK song I heard. Pretty interesting because of interesting melody of the chorus which composes well with the Mozart's background. Also violin bridge leading to BoA's solo is fantastic - nice stylistic addition to classical motive.

"Sonata of Temptation" - Ivy

Beethoven's "Für Elise".

"They" - Jem

Bach this time. Prelude & Fugue No. 12 from Well-tempered Clavier. Pretty nice reendition of the theme.
